Created by Joe Bloomfield, Modified on Wed, 18 Mar at 3:56 PM by Adelaide Fletcher

Keeping your rug or runner safely in place doesn’t have to be complicated. Our anti-slip underlays are designed to prevent movement, improve comfort, and protect your flooring—without the need for any glues or adhesives.

What Makes Our Anti-Slip Underlay Different?

Our underlays use a specially developed, bonded technology that grips both the floor and the rug. This means:

  • No sticky residues or marks left behind

  • No adhesives, sprays, or glues required

  • Safe for a wide range of flooring types

  • Suitable for use with underfloor heating

Which Anti-Slip Should You Choose?

We offer two main types of anti-slip underlay, depending on your flooring and comfort preference:

1. Fleece (Best for All Floor Types)

This option is made from polyester fleece impregnated with a bonded acrylic resin, meaning the anti-slip properties are built directly into the material.

Best for:

  • Carpet (and hard floors)
  • Customers wanting a soft, fabric-based underlay

Benefits:

  • Guaranteed no residue transfer
  • Safe and stable on all surfaces
  • Works with underfloor heating

Available options:

  • Dual Fleece White – Thin, with excellent grip and minimal cushioning

  • Super Dual Fleece – Nearly twice as thick, offering the same grip with added comfort underfoot.t

2. Mesh (Best for Smooth Floors)

Made from high-quality PVC with a reinforced mesh structure, this option is ideal for hard, smooth flooring.

Best for:

  • Laminate, hardwood, vinyl, and other smooth surfaces

Benefits:

  • Strong grip without damaging floors
  • Will not break down or leave residue like some rubber alternatives
  • Suitable for underfloor heating

Available options:

  • Extra – Thin with excellent anti-slip performance
  • Profilo – Thicker design for extra cushioning, with a unique weave that helps airflow and flexibility

How to Use Your Anti-Slip Underlay

Fitting your underlay is quick and easy:

Method 1 (Recommended for most rugs and runners):

  1. Lay the anti-slip underlay directly onto the floor
  2. Place your rug or runner on top
  3. Allow a few minutes for everything to settle flat

Method 2 (Best for smaller runners):

  1. Turn your runner face down
  2. Roll out the underlay onto the backing
  3. Flip both over together and position them in place

Final Tips

  • Choose fleece for versatility across all floor types.

  • Choose Mesh for maximum grip on smooth floor.

  • Opt for thicker options if you’d like extra cushioning underfoot.
